Part-Time Gratuity Calculator

Estimate gratuity for part-time work based on hours and service.

Part-Time Gratuity Calculator

Part-time gratuity is the full-time figure scaled by contracted hours.

How to read your figure

Part-time pay is worked out in two steps, and skipping the first step is the usual mistake. First work out what the gratuity would be on a full-time basic salary. Then scale it by your hours.

Say the full-time basic is AED 10,000, you work 20 hours against a 40-hour full-time week, and you have four years of service. The full-time gratuity is AED 28,000. Half the hours gives half the figure, AED 14,000.

Common questions

What if my hours changed during the job? Use the contracted hours in your current arrangement as a starting point, and ask HR for the hours record if the pattern changed a lot.

Does the one-year rule still apply? Yes, part-time workers still need one year of continuous service.
